Good Morning! Heres a Morning Update about this storm system that rolled through. A low pressure system started as a few rain showers out west. As it moved East through the Plains it began to insensify, gathering itself in strength. It produced well over 150 storm reports, 13 tornado touchdowns, a death in Missouri here by 7am. The most severe weather being in Missouri and Kentucky. This system continuing to move East and will impact Virginia and the Carolinas. Winds will also rev up that could top 50mph not just here in Central Indiana by South & to the East. The severe threat in Indiana is over except for may the Extreme Southeastern portions of the state.
While severe thunderstorm activity is happening South, a winter storm is happening North. Heavy Snow fell yesterday in Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona. Snow expect in Dakotas along the Great Lakes cotinuing to move East having the potential to drop 1.5"ft. of snow.
Once again Indianapolis continuing to miss out on some of that beneficial white fluffy stuff. Stuck at 9.1", we have only had a trace of snow in the past 2 weeks. A season over a foot of snow below normal and not too many more chances in the next 2 weeks. We do cooler air coming this weekend that could drop our high temps down in the low 40s, maybe upper 30s Monday with a small shot at a few snowflakes but even that is looking slim. More on that in the days to come. First we have Thunderstorm System #2 to contend with first on Friday that will also push temp back into the 60s once again. Latest GFS Model below for Friday & Second Photo is the Current Snowcover where 34.5% of the U.S. Grounds is covered with Snow.
Full Forecast in my blog tonight but today in Indianapolis the rest of the day should be windy, dry with sunshine and a high near 70°.
