Weekend Weather Forecast

Good Evening! If you haven't noticed the days are getting longer. The Sunrise time on Jan 1st was 8:06 AM, Sunset Time 5:30 PM. Total Daylight Hrs was 9 hrs 24 mins. Today, sunrise time 7:06 AM, sunset time 6:45 PM. Total Daylight Hrs 11 hrs 39 mins. This means since Jan 1st we have gained about 2 hrs 15 mins of daylight. We will continue to increase daylight hrs until the end of June. Then we will begin to lose daylight hrs.

Thats right! This is the weekend we lose a hr of sleep so those wanting to attend church or is scheduled to work Sunday Morning, may want to set your clocks before you go to bed tomorrow night. What does daylight savings time mean? Well when we spring our clocks forward, we end up having more daylight in the evening than in the morning. Also by doing this, this uses less electricity saving energy usage. Did you know the idea of Daylight Savings Time was first conceived by Benjamin Franklin in 1784??

Well we just experienced a cool down, actually for most of the nation. From a Thursday Morning High Temp of 66° at 3am. We dropped to Thursday Evening 11pm Low of 33°, also our Midnight Low this Morning. Our high temp today reached 44°. Our avg temp is 47°.

Here's a look back at the temps this week. High Temps in Red, Low in Green:

Well High Pressure will dominate the weekend. This means Sunny Skies for both Saturday and Sunday. This will push the rain to the late Sunday Evening hrs. Still expecting Rain for Monday. The Warm up will also begin. We'll make our way to 70s mid week and possibly near 80s by the tail end of the weekend. The temps for the next 2 weeks average 11 ° above normal. This warmth across much of the nation could have many cities pulling out the record books. I'll have more on the record temps here in Indianapolis during this time in a later blog.
