Good Morning! One Month after the devasting tornado struck everything in hits path killing over a dozen people, 1200 Henryville students return back to class. Residents, still trying to recover from this event, found themselves on a early, long spring break and not having fun as the city engaged in clean up efforts.
Well guys a cold front moved in last night that brought thunderstorms in Central Indiana after 9pm. Two Supercells sparked up. The most significant aspect from these storms was large hail mostly confined to Eastern Marion County stretching to the Northeast and Southeast and farther East. Total Hail Reports tallied to 18 last night. Here's a map of all storm reports from yesterday.
Well temps have dipped this morning to the low 50s. Temps will warm but not as much as originally thought. Looking at low 70s. Some places could reach mid 70s, while some may fail to reach the 70° mark particularly North. A few days ago we were talking Record Levels for Today, this is untrue but their is big warmth out west that will move in for tomorrow.
A warm front will approach tonight bringing storm chances with it. Temps will climb to upper 70s, low 80s nearing record setting territory for Tuesday. The Record High is 83° set in 1946. I don't see us breaking it. Also, Tomorrow will not be a washout. I expect to see some Afternoon Sunshine. Best chance for storms tonight into tomorrow morning. This heat will NOT last. Yet another cold front will approach resulting in a cooler Wednesday. This cool air will last for a few days. Another warm up for the weekend. Several rain chances are also in store for the next 10 days.
Mid 70s for Saturday and Low 70s expected at the moment for Easter. Its unclear where the month takes us. I will continue to monitor and update changes. Right now, April 1-10 Normal to Above Normal Temps and Wet. April 11-15 Cool Spell, could feature a freeze. Then a warm up by the 16th with Above Normal. Keep in mind, with pools of cool air, brings the threat for severe weather. Precipitation for the Month should be Above Normal. We pulled out 0.63" on the first day to start April. Average rainfall for April is 3.81". Think we'll easily pass the remaining 3.18" needed for Average Rainfall. Hang on guys, this month could be a interesting but bumpy ride!
