Nice and Warm End To Weekend

RAIN CAME AND GONE
Rain persisted throughout the day Friday ending on Saturday morning across Indiana. Here's a look at 24 hour rain totals from 7AM Friday to 7AM Saturday. Officially in Indianapolis, we received 0.94" (beginning to end of this event).

WARMTH BUILDS
As skies cleared, the temperature slowly climbed to a high near 60. Here's a look back at national temps during the 5pm hour. You can see the mild temps in the plains and midwest. That warmth will be moving East and will be part of our forecast for both Sunday and Monday.

WARMEST AIR IN 5 MONTHS
If we reach 70 on Monday, it will be the 1st time in 139 days since October 28th. The average date of our 1st 70 is March 16th and last year we saw our 1st occurrence of the year on April 10th. 58 out of the past 71 years since 1943 has seen atleast one 70° day during the month of March. In 1950 and 1967, the 1st 70 of the year was in January and in 1954, 1972, 1985, 1996, 1999, and 2000, the 1st 70 of the year was recorded in February.

REST OF THE WEEK NOT AS WARM
Tuesday will be cooler. I think the high will go down as 56 reached during the midnight hour going from Monday into Tuesday. We'll likely spend much of the day in the 40s and Wednesday morning lows dipping into the upper 20 in the city. We'll also likely spend Wednesday in the 40s as well as. We'll slowly tick back up going into next weekend where we may get back towards 60s. As we narrow down on winter's official end this week, winter's snow and cold is pretty much already way behind us by a million miles.
