1st Week Of Spring Outlook

Gloomy skies are lingering across Indiana but they should begin to thin out as the evening progresses. Optimistic will get a nice sunset for Friday evening. Temperatures midday were in the mid 40s across Indianapolis. Shooting for the lower 50s for highs. Clearing skies this evening will drop temps in the upper 30s, I believe. Note, that Spring officially begins at 6:45pm this evening. Look at the progress we've made with daylight hours in my chart below. As the sun angle continues to get higher, days will continue to get longer out to the 1st day of summer. As the sun continues to get even more stronger, we'll begin to see 80s and 90s soon. We've already seen our 1st 70 of the year earlier this week. The average date for the 1st 80 is around April 19th while the average date for the 1st 90 is around June 14th.

Saturday looks like a fantastic day with plenty of warmth and sunshine. I think we reach the low to mid 60s. Some spots south may even see 70s. Unfortunately, this warmth will not extend into Sunday as a cold front drops in from the North Saturday evening. Temps Sunday morning will drop near freezing to start the day. While it won't be as warm, it should still be a nice sunny day with temps making a run towards the 50s.

Lots of ups and downs throughout the week with almost daily chances of precipitation. Eyeing Wednesday for the possibility of a thunderstorm. More details will be provided as the day draws closer. I hope you enjoy your weekend!
