Patchy Light Rain and Drizzle will rule the day and with the thick cloud deck don't expect temperatures to warm up too much. We should reach highs in the mid 70s across Central Indiana. Most of the rain will primarily fall in areas North of I-70. Here's a current continuous radar loop.
Its been a cool past 7 days with temperatures below 80. You have to go back to July 23rd when we saw a hot 91° day. Our chances are great for making this the 8th consecutive day with temps below 80 and for July, this ties an old record. You'll have to go back 142 years ago to the period of July 16th-23rd, 1871 to find this long of a stretch of temps below 80° for a month of July. Here's the NWS Indianapolis, Indiana write up on this.

High Dew Points tonight and decreasing cloud cover will allow for the formation of fog which could be dense in some areas so visibility will be reduced Thursday Morning for the morning commute. Warmer Temperatures will come in for Thursday and Friday where temperatures should finally reach the 80s. Temperatures, however, will stay below normal and more 70s will rule the first half of August. We are looking at our coolest start to an August in 4 years tomorrow afternoon when highs reach low 80s. The last time Indianapolis opened August below 80 was back in 1996 when the high was 77.
A thunderstorm chance comes in for Friday Afternoon or Evening that may linger into the first part of Saturday. Temperatures will be slightly lower over the weekend with temperatures in the upper 70s. This looks to mark the 15th consecutive weekend with a trace or more of precipitation recorded on either Saturday or Sunday or both days.
Here's an exclusive look at a calendar view of my weather forecast for the first 10 days of August.
