Temperatures have slowly been on the incline throughout the past week. An astonishing 10 day run w/ temps below 40° has put us in the Top 10 Coldest Novembers on record. The streak was the 4th longest for a November since 1871. The last time it happened was from November 21-30, 1950. The most for the weather event was 17 days from November 14-30, 1880. We set a record for coolest high (also referred to as lowest maximum temp) on November 19th when the high temperature reached 19°. The previous was 20 set 134 years ago in 1880. The 19° high temperature was the 1st teen high since March 3rd, the earliest 1st teen high for the season since Nov 18, 1959 , & the 1st time for a November since the 29th of 1976. It was also the 12th November day out of over 4200 November days on record we've seen a high below 20°.
The low temperature of 9° on the 18th was the 1st single digit low of the season since March 4th. Its the 34th November day (again out of over 4200 November days) with a teen low, with the last occurrence on November 30, 1976. Warmer temperatures returned afterwards reaching 37 on Thursday and 30 on Friday. As the chill continued to further retreat warmer temperatures arrived over the weekend soaring to 56 on Saturday and 55 on Sunday. The milder air came with unsettled weather where rain was recorded on both Saturday and Sunday. As of 7pm Sunday, the total weekend rainfall amount was up to 0.95". By Monday, we are expected to reach a 3 day total around 1.5" to possibly 2".
Here is current animated radar.
Temperatures are expected to fall throughout the day on Monday. The high temperature of 55 will be reached during the early morning hours. The 5pm temperature early Monday evening could be down to 36°. Some snow showers could fly Monday night, no accumulations is expected. Winds will kick up into high gear w/ gusts exceeding 40 mph. Travel may be difficult. Bring in or tied down loose objects around your home. A wind advisory will be effective Monday form 7AM to 7PM. On Tuesday, temperatures will be cooler below freezing in the morning and barely climbing above freezing in the afternoon. I kept in a slight chance of a few flurries on Tuesday but I think we'll end up seeing some peaks of sun from time to time. On Wednesday, temperatures will be in the upper 30s. The 1st part of the day looks dry but as we get into the afternoon and evenings hours we will re-introduce the change for a rain/snow mix likely changing to all snow for Turkey day. Thanksgiving Thursday looks cooler under mostly cloudy skies. Snow accumulations will be less than 1.5 at this distance". Could be messy for the holiday travelers. Follow safe winter driving practices. Warmer weather will return as we end November and begin December. After Week 1, it gets cool again. Slight variations in modeling data as to when it actually gets cool. GFS is a day or two earlier than the European. Here is my exclusive 14 day outlook.
