Today will mark the 11th day above normal and its been a nice run I know many have been enjoying. High temperatures have ranged 51-65 since November 24th, which are more than 10 degrees above normal. Most of today will predominantly be a dry but we will likely begin to see a few scattered showers or embedded thunderstorms popping up late in the afternoon or evening hours going into tomorrow morning. (Simulated Radar Snapshots at 10pm Mon and 3AM Tues pictured below)
We've only received 0.09" of precipitation over the past 2 weeks, which is over an inch and a half below normal. We are expecting anywhere between a quarter of an inch to a half inch of rain by Tuesday morning. Not only is our rain chances going up but so will the winds. Could be looking at 15-25 mph wind speeds with gusts up to 35 mph. Also climbing today is the temperatures with those strong southerly winds which will likely boost us into the 60s.
We'll start the day off warm tomorrow in the 60s or 50s during the overnight hours but with unsettled weather moving in this will likely drop our temps as the day progresses. We'll likely drop into the 40s for the afternoon. This is actually a strong cold front passing that will switch us to a much colder weather regime that may linger for the rest of the year. Weather computer models typically have a difficult time pinpointing snow potential that usually accompanies the much colder air this time of the year. While the chance is there, its too early to discuss how much of this snow will accumulate. That will need to be monitored in the days ahead and when the future weather outlook becomes more certain a better forecast can be presented.
