Cooler Work Week Ahead

Good Evening! Highs today did top the 70° mark this afternoon. Our morning low this morning was 56° A cold front will be pushing the upper low out of the state tonight. This should help give way to clearing skies and sunshine for the next few days. However, we will be onto a cooler weather pattern ahead especially for the tail end of my detailed forecast. I exclusively extended my outlook to 15 days to show how cool it may get. We continually flirt with low temps around the freeze point. Not forecasting anything subfreezing at the moment. Hope you still have the winter gear on hand. Your gonna need it!
Work Week
Week shouldn't be all that bad with plenty of sunshine and minimal chances of rain. Looks like Tuesday Evening into Wednesday Morning would be our best shot though at some wet precipitation. High Temps will be the 60s and 70s, Low Temp mostly in 40s and 50s. A freeze watch has been issued for Northeastern and Eastern part of Indiana. Readings can fall to subfreezing temps. This goes into effect Monday Night into Tuesday Morning. This does not include Indianapolis, however, due to falling dew point temps, we could have some patchy frost as temps fall into the upper 30s here. The lowers the dew point temp, the drier the air is.

Whats Ahead
Next weekend it looks like we'll kick the chances up for some scattered showers on Friday throughout most of Next Week. There continues to be a shot of a even chillier cool down for the first half of April, as mentioned for several weeks now. Highs could dip in 50s, maybe even a 40° day. Lows could fall back in 30s, maybe even a morning back into 20s. Folks the average last freeze is around April 20th. So far, our last freeze date was March 10th. The latest Freeze Date ever recorded was on May 27, 1961.

Last freeze dates for the past 5 yrs.

I expect the month of April to go from above average to below average temps in the first half of month. However, the month will probably finsh will a avg temp that is normal for the month. I think the second half of the month we'll have normal April Temps with highs in the mid to upper 60s, and lows in the upper 40s to low 50s. For now, I'm putting a chance of a hard freeze between the 8th-12th day of April. Have to wait, to see how this plays out.
