Sunny and Spectacular Start to the Weekend

THIS WEEKEND FORECAST IS SPONSORED BY THE LETTER "S"

Weatherbug Camera Lucas Oil Stadium Indianapolis, IN early Saturday Morning

This past week we've seen a lot of 70s and they'll continue through the weekend. This morning, most areas dropped to low temperature in the upper 40s and lower 50s, officially 52 in Indianapolis. Dew Point temperatures in the upper 30s, lower 40s are making for a refreshing feel for those spending the time outdoors. Don't let the cool start to the day fool you. The air is drier and will allow temperatures to climb 20°-25° for afternoon highs in the mid to upper 70s. Temperatures today will be running nearly 10° below normal.

QUICK SIDENOTE: SUNDAY IS FATHER'S DAY. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL THE DADS OUT THERE.
On Sunday, the Canadian High will continue to shift its way east steering in winds from the south. This wind shift will bring in much warmer temperatures for Father's Day and those dew point temperatures will rise bringing back the humidity. This is only the beginning of what will be a warm & muggy week. We'll likely get by the whole weekend without seeing a rain drop but clouds will begin to fill the sky the deeper we get in to Sunday afternoon. Don't get me wrong, we're obviously seeing lots of sunshine today and this will continue for most of Sunday as well. Precipitation is up there for the month. 9 days this month has seen a trace or more of rain totaling 3.65" which is over an inch and half above normal to date. Additionally, 6 out of the past 7 days saw measurable rain. Storm chances return Monday but may be scattered in nature with Northern Indiana having the greatest chance for precipitation. Again, not everyone will see a storm. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 80s on Sunday and mid to upper 80s on Monday but flirting with 90s for Tuesday-Friday. The last time Indianapolis saw a 90° observation was 276 days ago on September 11th (95°), a little over 9 months ago. We typically see our 1st 90 of the year anytime between mid June to early July. Occasionally, those observances can be made outside of that window earlier or later. Last year, we had to wait til July 16th but in 1942 the 1st 90 came on April 30th.

Here's a look at the forecast for the next 10 days from the last European Model.
