After such a dry November, which finished as the 15th driest November and 2nd driest November in 10 years, we have managed to squeeze out some precipitation over the past few days. We picked up 0.26" Sunday, 0.02" Monday, and 0.14" Today (Tuesday) for a 3 day total of 0.42" for the month so far. This is where we should be for the month so far. We are 0.01" above normal. We average 3.17" of rainfall for this month of December. More rain is in the forecast in the coming days.
Well the rain showers are moving out of the state. The cloud deck will break up as we will be under the influence of high pressure tomorrow. This will keep the rain and clouds away and we will finally get a good days worth of sunshine. However, due to a frontal passage that swept through this morning, this will keep temperatures on the cool side as we'll be under a northwest wind for tomorrow. This wind just pushes cooler air from the North southbound into our state so it will certainly be a change from where we were for the past few day. High temperatures will be near normal for where they should be but a degree or two above normal. The average high temperature for Wednesday is 42°, we are expecting a high between 43°-45°.
We'll get back into more of an active weather pattern late Thursday bringing a daily chance for showers that will carry throughout the weekend into next week. This could all end will a severe weather outbreak and even measurable snow chances. Will watch an approaching low pressure system and see how all this will play out in the days to come. Standby for further developments.
